Through The Years design came out through multiple different trial and errors. With discovering that I wanted to highlight the most important aspects through the years, I realized I didn’t need that many photos to do so. Telling my story isn’t that hard, I’m a simple southern girl just trying to live her dreams.
With my baby photos which are the main points in the collage, I wanted to make sure I emphasized those photos without emphasizing them, so I blended them together and changed the opacity. Once I started doing that, I realized that I didn’t like the placement, or that one photo I wanted to stand out more than the rest, so I kind of left some photos with little opacity and the rest with more if not full opacity.
When I started deciding what other photos I wanted on there, I was thinking about family more than anything. I wanted to put friends on there, but I didn’t want it to be too overwhelming. I put the most important moments and memories on there, like graduation, prom, Christmas one year, the last photo me and dad took before he moved when I was 8, and other things that bring back big memories.
Once I placed those where I wanted them, they looked bland. I didn’t want them to pop more than the baby photos, but I didn’t just want to blend them. So I changed their perspective. It wasn’t that difficult to design, it was just challenging to find what photos should be on there. I still want to add friends, but I also don’t want it to be too overwhelming. I might come back to that.
I hope this tells my story in a fun and creative way, and I can’t wait for you all to see it come alive. I’m not from Ohio, so I really hope you see what a small town girl really enjoys doing and why I decided to come up here.
