Thank u, next Story

When this project was posted, I was really excited to create this. Unlike the other projects, I feel like this can actually show what my friends and family are like.

I have used premiere pro once before, but it was for editing TV shows that my class filmed, so I was a little rusty with this.

I knew I wanted to start the journey from baby years, but I also wanted to make the video like a book, which is where I put the effect page turn on the ends of each picture or video. I ended up putting an outro thanking everyone in the video. I also ended up taking a lot of things out of the video so it would shorten it a little bit.

I knew I wanted to add my favorite memories. I know that this was supposed to be all original footage for this specific project, but I live 10hrs away from home, there is no way I was going to be able to get footage for this, to tell the story I wanted to tell.

When setting up the layout, I knew I wanted to show inside my life from beginning to end, by sharing videos and pictures that I have yet shown on my website. So stitching this together was tough, I didn’t know if I wanted to do different transitions. When I did that, I didn’t like how unorganized it made it look, so I decided to just stick with one specific transition.

I really hope you enjoyed my story. I enjoyed creating this and showing you what my family and friends are like back home. I can’t wait to go see them and make more memories with them. Thanks for coming on this journey and Merry Christmas.

Video Draft Story

When this project was posted, I was really excited to create this. Unlike the other projects, I feel like this can actually show what my friends and family are like.

I have used premiere pro once before, but it was for editing TV shows that my class filmed, so I was a little rusty with this.

I knew I wanted to start the journey from baby years, but I also wanted to make the video like a book, which is where I put the effect page turn on the ends of each picture or video.

I knew I wanted to add my favorite memories. I know that this was supposed to be all original footage for this specific project, but I live 10hrs away from home, there is no way I was going to be able to get footage for this, to tell the story I wanted to tell.

When editing this, the program crashed a lot, so saving every 5 minutes was key.

I want to do more with this, by shortening it but I don’t really know what to put in it or to take away from it, so it still tells the story.

Audio Story Final

Looking at the critiques I received, I cut down some of the footage. I feel like telling my story like this was a good success and I feel as if my listeners really got to know me.

I tried getting more interview footage for the story, but either they couldn’t do it, or the audio wouldn’t upload right. I tried getting my best friend from home and my mom. Both audio clips wouldn’t work. So even though I didn’t add anything to this, I did raid the volume of the sound some and cut some of the clips. Its still around the 3 min mark, I tried cutting it down shorter, but  I felt if I went any shorter, it would have miss a lot of stuff I wanted my listeners to hear.

Overall, I enjoyed this project. I loved listening to Faiths and Mackenzie’s stories and I hope they enjoyed listening to mine.

My Journey Audio Story Draft

The music in the background: https://www.bensound.com/royalty-free-music/track/a-day-to-remember-wedding-music

Hey! So this is my journey, in audio form! In this, I go through my life from birth to now. Sharing my journey through audio was a little tough because I didn’t know what to put down and who to interview at first.

I interviewed my grandmother who is the first voice you hear after mine and she told a memory about me and the first time I saw birds walking. The male voice you hear is my dad, and he tells about me head banging to music. I knew I wanted to incorporate them because they are the ones who raised me and who I have the best memories with.

With this I knew I wanted to create something like a story book, so I chose sentimental music to play in the background because this entire story means a lot to me. I faded that in at the beginning and lowered the volume during the story, and towards the end I faded it out.

Some of the clips I chopped down, using the razor tool, so it would just be music, to separate between years or topics. To give you and me some what a small break from the speaking.

With some of the clips I had to either raise the volume or lower it, so that it all kind of sounded like it meshed with each other. I played around with it some until I found the right volume to fit with the music.

I did write a script for this, which made editing and talking my way through a lot easier. It was at 3 1/2 pages, until I made it to 1 1/4 page. To do the recording, I just used my laptop voice recorder thats already downloaded. With my dad and grandmothers voices, since they are 10 hrs away from me, I called them, interviewed them and held the phone up to my laptop mic so it could pick up the sound. I then went through the audio and chopped it in certain places until I knew what I wanted in my audio.

I hope you enjoy this and I can’t wait for the feedback!

Logo Final

With creating this logo, I wanted it to represent me in ways that objects could show the view what I am like. I love music, colorful things are my life, in the middle is the pansexual flag colors that represent my sexuality including a pencil for my major (Journalism), and my favorite quote by my favorite artist, “Dreams are only dreams until you decide to make it real,” Harry Styles, and fries and coffee because why not and the punk rock hand represents my type of music.

Lets start with the vinyl itself. It was basically creating a giant circle with smaller circles inside of it. The vinyl represents my soul, old school. I love collecting them and even getting my friends vinyls for their birthdays. If you want to get to my heart, instead of food, battle me on vinyls. The other thing with the vinyl is the pink, yellow and blue gradient. This represents the pansexual flag, which I am proud of. Especially since it is LGBTQ History month, not only that its who I finally self identify as and I am proud and happy that I do. The words around the middle is, ‘Nearly Myself.’ This was a harder process than I thought it would have been, but I finally did it with the help of the fancy ‘type on path’ tool and the video.

The stars and decals are my favorite portion of this entire thing.

The stars represent my colorful way of living. From sitting at home all day, or getting up and being productive. Either or, I love being positive and bringing positivity to my peers and others around me. To create these I used the star shape tool and used the up and down arrows to create more or less points in the stars.

The fries and coffee are the cutest by far. The fries remind me of the saying, “fries before guys,” but it represents my love for food. I will literally try anything that you sit down in front of me and say ‘try it.’ The coffee expresses my addiction to Startbucks and other coffee joints. Both the coffee and the fries go well with each other because they balance out everything for me.

Lastly, the punk rock hands. This basically shows what type of music I am mostly in, besides country and rap. It also represents to me the past I lived through and just shows that no matter how old I get, I will always have a little rebel inside of me.
